Herbs have been used for years to combat many different issues. Acne is just another problem that can be cured with herbs. Herbal remedies for acne are completely safe and effective as well as for various skin types.

Lavender

Lavender is especially helpful in reducing redness and soothing the skin. Lavender oil is excellent as a preventative acne treatment. Use lavender essential oil, dilute 1:10 with water, rosewater or witch hazel. Apply it to freshly cleansed skin with a cotton ball to affected area.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is an effective treatment for many skin conditions, such as cold sores, the blisters of shingles and chicken pox, verrucae, warts, acne, large inflamed spots and nappy rash. For acne treatment, use tea tree oil, dilute 1:10 with water, rosewater or witch hazel. Apply it to freshly cleansed skin with a cotton ball to affected area.

Calendula

Ingrain calendula with boiling water. The standard infusion can be prepared by adding 1 to 2 teaspoons of the dried herb and (or 2 to 4 teaspoons of fresh herb) the fresh herb requires double. These ingredients must be added to a cup of boiling water. Allow this infusing to last for 10 minutes before straining. Then apply with a cotton ball to washed skin and allow to remain for 10-15 minutes and then rinse.
