A Review of the Sole F63 Treadmill
When it comes to entry-level treadmills, many people will lead you to believe that you just cannot get a good treadmill for less than $1,000. Most places will try to get you to upgrade to a model a few hundred dollars more expensive. But if you are just looking for a machine which will let you walk or jog in the comfort of your own home, the Sole F63 might be just what you need.
It maintains a decent-sized belt at 55 inches, probably all you will need for walking and jogging unless you are unusually tall. The motor in a 2.5 HP model which has plenty of power, but doesn’t run quite as quietly as the higher end Sole models. It will still take you up to 10 miles per hour, which should be plenty for anyone looking for light activity. Although the treadmill can handle more than just light activity considering it will hold up to a whopping 325 pounds.
It comes standard with some of the options you have probably come to expect from Sole. It has a nicely setup display, but also has control on the armrests for easier use. It comes with cooling fans as well. While they won’t generate hurricane-force winds, they are plenty strong enough to offer you a nice breeze while you are jogging. Although the display system doesn’t come with all of the options of more expensive treadmills, it still looks fine and has plenty to keep a casual jogger occupied.
While the sturdier feel of some of the higher end Sole models is lacking a bit, you still get an impressive warranty with this model. The motor and deck are still covered by a lifetime warranty and the major electronics receive a 3 year warranty. You also get 1 year parts and labor. But considering that the roots of this machine lie in major hotel chains, you are likely to end up with a treadmill that lasts as long as you do.
Unfortunately, you won’t be getting Sole’s highly rated Cushion Flex impact absorption on this model. While the F63 still offers a great improvement over running on pavement, it is a bit harder than one of the upgraded models. With that and the noisier deck taken into account, someone who is an avid runner, or has intentions to become one, might want to consider upgrading to a higher end model. But even with the few complaints about quality, you are still getting one of the better models in the price range. If you’re looking for a cheap treadmill without the cheap feel, the Sole F63 might have a place in your home.
