Sonicare Toothbrushes
Sonicare Toothbrushes : Where Science and Health Meet!
Dentists have known for years that Sonicare toothbrushes really deliver when it comes to giving a deep, thorough cleaning to your teeth. Since I’ve started using Sonicare to brush, my dentist has noticed that there is less plaque build-up on my teeth.
Brushing with Sonicare is easy – easier than brushing with ordinary toothbrushes. It’s very comfortable and fast. Thanks to the toothbrushes’ 2-minute timer, you always know when you’ve brushed for long enough.

How To Brush Using Sonicare Toothbrushes
If you read the directions that come with Sonicare toothbrushes, you will see that your brushing style needs to change a little bit to adapt to the Sonicare technology. Basically, you have 4 sections in your mouth:
- Upper Jaw, Outside of teeth, by the lips
- Upper Jaw, Inside of teeth, by the tongue
- Lower Jaw, Outside of teeth
- Lower Jaw, Inside of teeth.
Sonicare refers to these four sections as quadrants and encourages you to brush each quadrant for 30 seconds. Some of the upper end sonicare toothbrushes actually have a 30-second timer on them, to remind you to switch quadrants, but after a while you get the feel for it and have a good idea of when to switch.
Also, in addition to adapating to the quadrant system, you’ll want to brush more slowly. With Sonicare, you don’t actually need to move the brush handle back and forth at all to "scrub" your teeth. Instead, you hold the brush steady over each tooth for 1-2 seconds. The vibrating brush head does all the gentle scrubbing your teeth need. You just advance the toothbrush along your teeth one by one, then swtich quadrants.
